Datuk T Sex Scandal - Reveal identity of man in sex footage soon, says Rahim

PETALING JAYA: The authorities should reveal the identity of the man in the sex video as soon as possible, said former Malacca chief minister Tan Sri Rahim Tamby Chik.

Any further delay would only lead to unhealthy speculation and polemics, he added.

As for the rowdiness at the Amru al-As mosque on Friday, Rahim said such actions were tantamount to political gangsterism.

He said this in response to verbal and physical attacks in an attempt to stop businessman Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah from swearing that the man in the sex video was Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Some of those who turned up had kicked Federal Territory Islamic Department (Jawi) officials who were seated on a floor in front of the imam’s rostrum.

Former Perkasa treasurer-general Datuk Shuaib Lazim’s shoulder was hurt after a PKR supporter had allegedly pulled his hand violently.

Eskay, Rahim and Shuaib had on March 21 revealed the existence of the Datuk T sex video.

Parti Kita central committee member Muhammad Firdaus Christopher said it was ironic that some PKR supporters were willing to accept statutory declarations as the gospel truth but refused to acknowledge statements made under oath.

He also called on Anwar to bring four witnesses to substantiate his claim that Umno leaders were womanisers and drunkards.

Kedah Gerakan Youth chief Tan Keng Liang said the PKR leadership must respect the religions and customs of all Malaysians, adding that they should protect the sanctity of places of worship.

In Butterworth, PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said she would consider carefully whether to take legal action against Eskay for defaming Anwar following the sumpah laknat.

She said this was because the “police seem to be providing assistance to those behind the video recording.”

When asked about Anwar’s Omega watch that was allegedly found in the hotel room where the video was shot, Dr Wan Azizah said the police had said the watch was not relevant to the sex video investigation.
